Another question
often asked is in regards to masturbation
- Is it haram. The most correct answer is
that there is no verse from the Quran nor
authentic sunnah that clearly defines it
to be haram, so thus the things that Allah
has remained silent upon are lawful. So
despite the fatwa's out there saying the
opposite, we are not of the authority to
make haram what Allah has failed to do.
Also in cases such as this we always look
to see what the companions have to say and
in this case they did not find it haram
either:
Ibn Abbas said it is better than fornication
or adultery. Ibn Umar said it is simply
rubbing an organ. Ibn Zayd said it is your
water you can discharge it if you want
( Ibn Hazams Muhalla)
So thus we can not say that it is haram,
