lenge was one that took m uc h s trength from
him , Ibn Ta ym iy yah did not hes itate in any wa y
to ens ure that the Sunn ah would be en forc ed
in ever y wa y and m ean s pos s ible even if this
m eant s pending in m os t of his life behind bars .
W ith this I would lik e to end with the words the
great Sc holar, Ibn Ta ym i y yah lived b y:
" W h a t c a n m y e n e m i e s p o s s i b l y d o t o
m e ? M y p a r a d i s e i s i n m y h e a r t ; w h e r -
e v e r I g o i t g o e s w it h m e , i n s e p a r a b l e
f r o m m e . F o r m e , p r i s o n i s a p l a c e o f
( r e l i g i o u s ) r e t r e a t ; e x e c u t i o n i s m y o p -
p o r t u n i t y f o r m a r t y r d o m ; a n d e x i l e
f r o m m y t o w n i s b u t a c h a n c e t o
t r a v e l "
